Have a ‘Sloe’ Cotswold Christmas
Would you like to know our secret weapon for staving off the cold on our Love Local for Foodies Christmas market stall?
It’s warming and intensely fruity and a few nips throughout the day keep the spirits high and the chill from our bones.
We associate sloes with Christmas. Starting off green the sloes turn a rich inky blue in autumn and are ready to harvest in October/November.
Ripe and ready to be turned into Sloe Gin and many other delicious artisan delicacies to be enjoyed at Christmas.
If you don’t have the time or the patience to make your own foodie gifts for friends and family, don’t worry, we have it covered for you.
Love Local for Foodies have named one of it’s unique festive hampers in honour of the sloe.
The COTSWOLD ‘SLOE’ CHRISTMAS hamper is a real treasure for the foodie with a taste for the luxurious and fruity.
Here are a few facts about the products and local suppliers who’s passion for excellence make our Christmas artisan food gifts so special.

Now before you get the wrong impression and you think that everyone at Love Local is a guzzling lush for gin, we have a super non-alcoholic cordial from our friends at Five Valley Cordials.
Five Valleys Sloe and Raspberry cordial can be used to make a refreshingly, fruity drink if mixed with still or sparkling water or it can make a sumptuous non-alcoholic hot toddy.
We think this will make the perfect refreshment to leave out for Santa on his Christmas Eve rounds. For the recipe go to Sloe Hot Toddie
